An Austrian woman of Haitian descent, in the early stages of her pregnancy, wants to find out what her father's unexpected inheritance is all about. She travels to Haiti and finds a beautiful villa in a gated community that has been uninhabited for years. But the idyll is deceptive, as the woman has inherited not only a house, but also her grandmother's voodoo powers, and must confront her nemesis, the estate's landowner.
